In appearing to pay homage to what was once upon a
time one of the richest and most renowned religious sites in England,
the formation also goes on to reveal much that's of a religious nature.
As most of you are aware, it's not unusual for the phenomenon to
express all such thoughts within its designs. What's important to
remember though is that in a general way, "The Circlemakers" never
appear to side with any one particular faith.
The formation reveals a circle of twelve
six-pointed stars surrounding a standing centre that's enclosed within a
hidden circle. Common to many CC's, the small circle found within the
very middle is very likely symbolically suggesting in a sense, that here
is the creator God with a capital G exactly where he belongs - at
the centre of everything!
From way back the six-pointed star has long been
recognised as "Solomon's Seal" or the "Star of David". However since the
state of Israel was formed back in 1948, it's been formerly recognised
as the emblem of the Jewish peoples. Its six points are made up of
equilateral triangles which symbolically represent a Trinitarian
spiritual aspect...a oneness created by an equilateral bonding of God,
man and land! There are twelve stars here that strongly suggest that
they represent the twelve tribes of Israel. Twelve Jewish stars, with 72
triangular points in all...now these are interesting numbers.

As you can see from the diagram we have a large
number of small circles evenly distributed throughout. Discounting the
one in the middle, we find we have 72 of them. 72 + 72 = 144 which is a
symbolic number said to represent the "United People of God", which
becomes an even more interesting number once you start delving into the
very mysterious "Book of Revelation".
Perplexing many scholars, the "Book of Revelation"
is a disturbing account of the visions of St. John concerning the end of
our present age that's known as the "End Times"...which if you've led a
sheltered life in Acacia Avenue, it could just come as a bit of shock
for you to learn that that's NOW! St. John's
visions of frightening imagery isn't just concerned with Judgement Day
("Here comes de Judge!") and the terrible death throes of a dying
age. He also offers new age insight into re-birth and renewal,
symbolised by the birth of a "New Jerusalem". John Michell's " New
Jerusalem" floorplan based upon earlier cosmology or zodiacal
floorplans is quite similar in a sense to the basic geometric design
that the formation presents us with.
Individually represented by a star, each Jewish
tribe is said to number 12,000. (12 x 12,000 = 144,000) Today only two
tribes are known to exist, so most Jews of today are descended from the
tribe of Judah or Levi. The remaining ten tribes are the "lost" tribes
that through their capture by the Assyrians back in 722 BC were either
eradicated or simply lost their identity through integrating with the
locals. Many have interpreted that at the end of time God will choose
144,000 of those he shall keep through a separation of the "wheat from
the chaff". Obviously with the loss of ten of those tribes, the "chosen
race" will not solely make up this number. It looks like those that
shall "inherit the Earth" will be of Gentile stock, with perhaps just a
trickle or so of Jewish blood running through their veins! You can
actually find number 10 indicated in the formation, for if you include
the central circle along with the 72 perimeter circles, you have 7 + 3 =
10. The number 10 also interprets as "at one with God"...for the number
one (1) stands next to God (0) that's symbolised by a circle.
In chapter 12 of Revelation a woman bearing a child
is mentioned wearing a crown of 12 stars. The formation placed itself
facing the fragmentary remains of Boxley's Cistercian Abbey. Founded in
1146 the Cistercian Monastic Order is important historically for the
cult worship of the Virgin Mary...now how can that be seen as a
coincidence? Crop circles shout and scream at us all the time about
re-birth and renewal and this one's no exception. This one's a superb
example...for not only does it acknowledge our present plight,
it also confirms the imminent second coming, or what many have
interpreted as being the spiritual birth of the "Christ Consciousness".
As mentioned earlier there were some similarities
between this formation and the Wayland Smithy event that had arrived at
roughly the same time. Could it also be, that given that it has twelve
building structures radiating from its twelve-fold star-like centre,
that what we are looking at is literally the "New Jerusalem" springing
up from out of the ground? The formation provides us with a very
powerful and surreal image and it looks very much as if we're witnessing
the exploding birth of a new city.

In every aspect the "New Jerusalem is a city of
twelves...twelve foundations, twelve gates, and even the height of its
city wall is 144 cubits (12 x 12) etc. The number twelve is the number
of completion and 12 x 12 means the divine completion of eternal
completions! The formation is full of twelve's...in fact they're
everywhere. We have twelve blocks of standing crop that form the shadows
of the buildings, that also incorporate twelve short walls and twelve
separating long walls etc. It was reported in the Daily Mail (11th
July) that the formation was 360 ft in diameter and if that's so, then
we're obviously looking at another thirty twelve's!
I also mentioned earlier that its design had a "cartoony-type"
comic book feel about it. I've slowly come to realise just how important
that is in trying to make sense of what's been placed before us. Just
after I'd seen the first aerial shot of this formation, I strangely
became drawn towards a large billboard nearby that was advertising the
new Superman movie would you believe! Here we had Superman flying above
skyscrapers alongside a slogan which read :- "Superman Returns! " But
what really caught my eye was the large skyscraper that was to be seen
at the lower right hand side of the poster. It was a
yellowish-beige building consisting of box-shapes that were tilted just
like the structures in the formation...
The comic book industry was born at the height of
the 1930's depression. Several enterprising American Jews hit on the
idea of creating a pantheon of superheroes that for ten cents a time,
became an absorbing means of escape . The Superman narrative when you
look deeper into it is rich in Jewish symbolism. Superman first appeared
in Action Comics in June 1938 and his Kryptonian name was Kal-L, which
in Hebrew translates as "all that is God" or "voice of
God". As a baby his parents fearing that their planet Krypton is
about to explode, launch him in a specially constructed rocket that
eventually lands near Smallville in Kansas. This story of his origins is
a somewhat familiar one, for it easily parallels the likes of Moses and
the Guy from Galilee etc, in that they to were spirited away as small
infants because their lives were in danger.
Adopted by John and Mary Kent, as he grows up he
slowly discovers his super powers and decides to make good use of them.
Along with the Krypton moral codes he was taught by recordings as he
journeyed towards Earth, he felt that his teachings along with his
miraculous powers could be of great benefit to mankind. He later moved
to the newly found city of Metropolis, which complete with
its skyscrapers seems to share much in common with New York. As Clark
Kent working behind a newsdesk as a reporter for the Daily Planet, he
was able to oversee and track current events in which he could be
of help.
Superman the miracle worker and saviour of the
Earth and all its peoples, is once again resurrected for "Superman
Returns" the movie. Jesus Christ Superstar the miracle worker
and saviour of the Earth and all its peoples, is once again resurrected
for "The Return of the Christ Consciousness" the reality...Whilst
some of you might think that this is all quite fanciful, that's as
maybe, but it's in this sort of way that "The Circlemakers" try
to maintain our interest. The Wayland Smithy "New Jerusalem" formation
was a real groundbreaker and certainly one in which they reminded all "circlefakers
" that they're still way ahead of the game!
Although they are poles apart design-wise it would
seem that the Boxley and the Waylands Smithy formations are
intrinsically linked. Take your pick of which you prefer...the "comic
book spoof" or the traditional "star fractal"...it matters not, for they
both convey specific revelations as laid down in that age-old book of
revelations! "The Circlemakers" on these two occasions chose perhaps a
less familiar way of repeating the message of imminent renewal that we
find locked and encoded within each and every genuine crop circle.
